This 160 degree thermostat will open much earlier than your factory 192 degree thermostat, allowing your engine coolant to flow throughout the engine and cooling system more quickly, preventing the engine from overheating as quickly. While not ideal for a street car (especially in the colder months), this thermostat is a great option for Mustangs that are driven hard during the summer, or are track dedicated cars.
